About us

The founder & CEO of Desert Maths is Robert Bergin. He has a fist class honours degree in Engineering from University College Dublin and has been a passionate Mathematics teacher for the past 20 years. He was Head of Mathematics at Dubai’s leading, non-profit IB curriculum school, JESS Arabian Ranches, for 13 years and has led numerous roles in top schools in South East Asia and the UK. He is a big believer in ‘bringing Maths alive’ and ensuring students both enjoy the subject and conceptually understand the topics at hand. 

Robert has extensively taught GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level and IB Mathematics to the highest levels. He also has an excellent record of helping students with private and boarding school entrance exams as well as helping to prepare students for SATS examinations. Robert founded and created the Dubai Maths Super League in 2016 and his school hosted the largest leg of the competition with nearly 30 top schools from the UAE competing in a day of Mathematical exploration and excitement. He has a proven track record of helping students achieve fantastic results and he has helped many UAE-based teachers through his IB Mathematics workshops.
